Gilbert's Shoe's is a collectively-run, not-for-profit, community center located at 1652 Ridge Avenue in Francisville, Philadelphia.
We are a grassroots, entirely volunteer, project dedicated to both building community and to community organizing, by supporting youth, education, art, culture and other forms of self-determination and self-defense. The community center is managed, scheduled and maintained by a community of volunteers who have access to the building. All our funding and material is donation based.
The community center hosts classes, screenings, music, meetings, performances, workshops, skill-shares and other events.
